Are you really that focused on Loki that you do not realize what Thor is doing?  He’s sacrificing his relationship with Jane because he knows what needs to be done.  He wants to save the Jotuns, but above all, he wants to save Loki.  He sees the things his brother has done, and he wants to correct those mistakes.  He knows that it will cut him off from Earth, but he believes that if he destroys the bridge, he will still have Loki with him, so he can figure out why he did what he did.  Just remember Thor’s expression when Loki let go of his spear.  remember that Thor still loves his brother most.
